Wesley Chapel Black Chamber of Commerce Launches to Empower Local Entrepreneurs and Strengthen Economic Growth

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - Oct. 27, 2025 - PRLog -- A new era of economic empowerment and representation is beginning in Pasco County with the official launch of the Wesley Chapel Black Chamber of Commerce (WCBCC). Chad Cooper and other board members founded the Chamber to create a lasting infrastructure of support, visibility, and opportunity for Black-owned and minority-owned businesses across the region.

"Black entrepreneurs are driving innovation and growth in our communities every day," said Cooper, a long-time advocate for small business development and inclusive growth. "Yet, too often, those businesses lack the representation, resources, and advocacy they need to thrive. The WCBCC was created to change that — to ensure our businesses and professionals not only have a seat at the table but are shaping the future of Wesley Chapel's economy."

The WCBCC exists to fill a critical gap in the local business landscape: representation. While Wesley Chapel continues to experience significant population and business growth, Black-owned and minority-owned enterprises have historically been underrepresented in community planning, major events, and economic development conversations. The Chamber will work to ensure that these businesses have both a voice and a visible presence in shaping the region's economic future.

The Chamber's mission is to empower, connect, and advocate for Black and minority business owners through programs that expand access to capital, build networks, and create pathways to sustainable success.

Key goals include:
  • Increasing the number and visibility of successful Black-owned businesses in Wesley Chapel and surrounding areas.
  • Promoting access to funding, mentorship, and educational resources.
  • Partnering with local organizations such as the Tampa Bay Chamber and the Pasco Economic Development Council to foster collaboration and inclusivity.
  • Advocating for equitable policies that support economic growth and opportunity for all.

"The WCBCC is not just for business owners; it's for our entire community," added Cooper. "We want local citizens, employers, and residents to play an active role in shaping a stronger, more inclusive economy. When our businesses thrive, our community thrives."

How to Get Involved

Businesses, entrepreneurs, and community supporters are invited to join the Wesley Chapel Black Chamber of Commerce, become founding members, and support ongoing initiatives through membership, partnerships, and contributions.

The Chamber's official grand opening celebration will take place in late January 2026, welcoming members, local officials, and community stakeholders to learn more about upcoming programs and partnerships.

Individuals interested in updates or membership can email info@wcbcc.org to be added to the Chamber's announcement list. The Chamber's website and social media platforms are currently in development and will launch in the coming months.
