Some are serving life sentences, yet their focus is no longer on what they've lost, but on what they can give. On October 22, The VERB Kind will take part in a conference being held inside the walls of the Everglades Correctional Institution, an unprecedented gathering of incarcerated men committed to helping young people avoid the same mistakes that led to their imprisonment. "This is one of the most beautiful stories of redemption I've ever witnessed," said Haley Hunt, founder of The VERB Kind. "These men have experienced the consequences of broken choices, and now they want to use their voices to help young men find a better way. It's the definition of purpose being reborn." The VERB Kind, which operates mentoring programs across Florida and Tennessee, works to empower youth in juvenile detention centers through consistent mentorship, education, and life skills development.
