![]() Oom Yung Doe Demonstrates Traditional Martial Arts at the Washington State Martial Arts FestivalStudents and instructors from the Kirkland and Northgate schools showcased signature forms, weapons, and sparring at the statewide event.
Throughout the day, Oom Yung Doe showcased the depth of its training through a series of demonstrations, including hand-to-hand sparring, weapons sparring, traditional weapons forms, and the use of traditional training equipment. These displays offered spectators a rare glimpse into the system's integrated approach, where practical skill, balance, and internal strength come together through centuries-old methods. A highlight of the day was the demonstration of Pal Gae, Oom Yung Doe's signature foundational form. Pal Gae focuses on developing coordination, strength, flexibility, and power through movements that engage all major joints of the body. Its practice builds the kind of balanced structure and endurance that students carry into both martial arts and daily life. Oom Yung Doe looks forward to participating in future festivals and continuing to share the strength and tradition of its training with the wider community.
