Redwood Gospel Missions To Host 24-hour "conversations On A Bench" Livestream Event

SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Oct. 6, 2025 - PRLog -- Redwood Gospel Missions will participate in Conversations on a Bench, a groundbreaking 24-hour livestream event taking place nationwide on October 9-10, 2025, coinciding with World Homeless Day. Executive Director Jeff Gilman will spend 24 consecutive hours on a bench in front the mission's Men's Ministry Facility, engaging in authentic conversations with community members, program graduates, local leaders, and supporters to spark honest dialogue about homelessness in Sonoma County.

24 Hours of Community Dialogue

Starting at 12:00 PM Pacific Time on Thursday, October 9, Gilman will host continuous conversations with diverse community members, including:

• Alumni of RGM's recovery programs sharing transformation stories
• Local business leaders and elected officials discussing community solutions
• Faith community leaders addressing the role of churches in responding to homelessness
• Healthcare professionals and social workers providing expert perspectives
• Community supporters explaining why this work matters to them
• Current program participants offering firsthand insights into their journey toward stability

"I will be talking to a variety of people during that time," Gilman explained. "Why would I be doing that? Let me tell you - homelessness remains one of our most significant social issues in America today. We know that there are real solutions for homelessness. We also know that mistakes in public policy are perhaps contributors to the problems of homelessness, and we want to address those. We also want to have conversations with people who have experienced homelessness and have found victory over their homelessness. We would like you to join us."
