| ![]() Animal Action Film Festival aims to save wildlifeBy: AA Xpose Media The short film festival and speaker panel will celebrate beautiful and iconic wildlife, marine life and animal species during World Animal Week from October 1 to 7. The Gold Coast community event follows World Animal Day on October 4, an international event raising awareness of animal rights and welfare. "These films show the beauty of life on our planet, but also the truth about what threatens the survival of many of nature's inhabitants," Topics include ecosystem collapse, marine deaths, polluted rivers, deforestation, corporate overreach and declining environmental standards. World-renowned filmmakers Lin Sutherland and Lynn Santer will showcase award-winning works including Brumby's Last Stand and Land of the Free, supported by celebrities such as Priscilla Presley and Tippi Hedren. Other films highlight the beauty and threats facing koalas, bats, birds and the broader ecological chain. Guest experts include Lynn Santer, Jenni Abbott, Jemma Lee, Doc Dayman, Daniel Brimblecombe, Aldwyn Altuney and Lin Sutherland. "Many of Australia's species have suffered monumental loss and the extinction rate is skyrocketing," The community is invited to unite for the health of our planet while supporting vital animal causes. Proceeds from raffles and donations will go to Aussie Wildlife Limited. Founded by Aldwyn Altuney on the Gold Coast in 2007, Animal Action Events raise awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals.
