Hydrochloric Acid Price Chart, Trend, Index, News, Demand and Forecast

In North America, the United States serves as the largest consumer and producer of hydrochloric acid, with key production hubs in Texas, Louisiana, and other Gulf Coast regions.

NEW YORK - Sept. 26, 2025 - PRLog -- The global Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) market exhibited varied movements in Q2 2025 across different regions, reflecting the interplay of supply-demand dynamics, feedstock costs, and regional economic activities. North America, APAC, Europe, and the Middle East & Africa (MEA) markets all demonstrated unique price trajectories, signaling the influence of both local and international factors on HCl pricing.

North America

In North America, Hydrochloric Acid spot prices experienced a downward trend during the second quarter of 2025. The U.S. market recorded a notable decline of 3.8% quarter-over-quarter, with prices settling at USD 350/MT DEL USGC by the end of June. This dip was primarily driven by subdued demand from key end-use industries such as steel pickling, water treatment, and chemical processing.

The steel sector, a significant consumer of HCl, showed signs of slower production activity during Q2, which exerted downward pressure on HCl procurement. Additionally, the availability of alternative acids and competitive import options contributed to the price softening in the region. Inventory levels in the Gulf Coast remained relatively high, providing buyers with leverage to negotiate more favorable pricing.

Asia-Pacific (APAC)

The APAC Hydrochloric Acid market displayed a mixed pattern in Q2 2025, characterized by moderate volatility. In Indonesia, HCl spot prices closed the quarter at USD 228/MT CFR Jakarta, reflecting a slight net increase of 0.88% from the previous quarter. The marginal rise was largely influenced by steady industrial demand and logistical adjustments in key consuming sectors.

Chemical manufacturing and textile processing, major end-users in the APAC region, maintained a steady appetite for HCl despite fluctuating regional demand. Supply-side dynamics, including the cost of imported chlorine and hydrochloric acid intermediates, also played a role in supporting prices. Seasonal maintenance shutdowns at certain local plants created temporary supply constraints, which limited any significant price decline.

Europe

In contrast to North America, the European Hydrochloric Acid market showed a positive trend in Q2 2025. The German market, a key hub for HCl consumption in Europe, witnessed a price increase of 2.35% quarter-over-quarter, reaching USD 174/MT FOB Hamburg in June.

Middle East & Africa (MEA)

The MEA Hydrochloric Acid market demonstrated the most pronounced price increase among the regions observed, particularly in the UAE market. HCl spot prices rose by 4.95% quarter-over-quarter in Q2 2025, reaching USD 127/MT CFR Jebel Ali by the end of June.
