Cristina Schek at Digitalism, British Art Fair 2025Cristina Schek, award-winning Transylvanian Surrealist Digitalist, presents new work at Digitalism, British Art Fair 2025, Saatchi Gallery. Her practice merges surrealism and technology to explore memory, identity and imagination.
By: Cristina Schek For Schek, a self-described "photo-sensitive" "I think in pictures, I dream in layers. Photoshop gave me wings," says Schek. "Digitalism is not just a method but a state of perception where light becomes my truest material." At British Art Fair, she will present new works that embody this ethos: speculative, sensory and cinematic, creating spaces that feel like memories half-remembered or dreams not yet fully woken from. Schek's work is shown alongside Jonathan Mitton in Gallery 14, Block D3, two distinct yet complementary voices shaping the language of Digitalism today. Alongside her presentation on the Digitalism platform, Schek's work will also be on view with Cynthia Corbett Gallery at Stand 17, continuing her recognition in the international art world. In 2025 she was awarded First Prize in the Young Masters People's Choice Award and Highly Commended for the Young Masters Rudolph Blume Foundation Acquisition Award. This recognition will culminate in a duo exhibition at The Exhibitionist Hotel, London, from January to April 2026. She is also the artist behind The Ceiling in the Sky, winner of the W4th Plinth Public Art Project curated by Abundance London — a monumental 4×4m public artwork exhibited outdoors and unveiled by none other than the legendary Dame Siân Phillips on 23 April 2023.
