Laura White, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter from Greater Manchester, has written and recorded a heartfelt tribute to Ricky Hatton following the boxing legend's passing.

Laura, who writes songs daily about life, love, and the moments that move her, said she was "heartbroken" when she heard the news.

"When I heard about the passing of Ricky Hatton, our very own Manchester legend, my heart broke. I just wished Ricky could somehow see how deeply loved he was by people across the world," Laura explained. "What struck me most about Ricky wasn't just what he achieved in the boxing ring, but how he inspired people far beyond it. He was a man of the people—humble, down-to-earth, and real. For me, and for so many, he showed that anything is possible if you stay true to yourself."

Laura first shared the song online in an acoustic version, and within two days it had received over 150,000 views on TikTok, along with thousands of comments from fans urging her to record and release it.

The single will be released on 26th September across all major streaming platforms, with all proceeds going via Hatton Boxing to projects that continue Ricky's legacy.

"We love you, Ricky," Laura added. "You'll always make me proud to be a Northern girl."
