CAPE COD, Mass. - Sept. 11, 2025 - PRLog -- Sea Crow Press is proud to announce the official publication of The Winterpoor, the deeply atmospheric new novel by acclaimed author George Michelsen Foy. Released September 5, 2025, The Winterpoor is now available through booksellers nationwide.

The Winterpoor immerses readers in the stark realities of the Cape's off-season life. At its heart is Murdo Peters, a Cape native and struggling artist, who finds himself grappling with personal loss, economic hardship, and an uncertain future. Murdo takes on the care of a neglected boy while attempting to restore the decaying floating studio of a long-dead artist. His journey, marked by addiction, environmental decay, and the raw challenges of year-round survival, becomes a moving exploration of human resilience and the redemptive power of art.

Sea Crow Press describes the novel as "a groundbreaking work that gives voice to Cape Cod's overlooked communities, where hardship shadows beauty, and hope flickers against the gathering dark."

The Winterpoor has already earned advance praise from bestselling authors and Cape Cod literary voices:

"The Winterpoor brings Cape Cod to life as we have seldom seen it… where part-time jobs dry up after the tourists go home and problems deepen as the dark months go by… Read it and be transported."
William Martin, bestselling author of Cape Cod and December '41

"Foy explores the desperation, shame and panic of poverty… Three unforgettable characters—Murdo, Daisy and the mysterious Boy—have little but dashed dreams and despair and each other. Can their friendship, and a hopefulness both resilient and absurd, overcome their circumstances and save them?"
Anne D. LeClaire, author of The Halo Effect and The Lavender Hour

"This exquisitely written novel will forever change how you see the seasonal Cape Cod communities you visit and the people who call them home—in very profound ways."
Candace Hammond, author of Christmas in Cranberry Harbor
