Wetion (2nd edn) is the 1st of a trilogy of fictional accounts connecting time, characters and lore. Wetion was designed for those wanting to imagine the historical paths taken by their ancestors. The Pilot and the Parrot, 2nd in the series, is also available through Amazon. In Wetion, a good measure of realism is evident. Using the author's own DNA, insight into the routes traveled by family is provided. Over a 50,000-year period, a collection of interconnected short stories feature familial characters. They are set in places charted by the National Geographic Society's Genographic Project for members of Haplogroups H and I, comprised of hundreds of millions of affiliates currently inhabiting North America, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Along the routes traced, research, imagination, and age-old campfire storytelling techniques bring history to life. Historical fiction based on fact, Wetion (2nd edn) is a tale about Addy's experiment. Addy, the main character, believes memories of our ancestors' most profound experiences are stored in our brain cells. He has been told it is possible to release details of these by consuming edible substances native to each of the places his ancestors once inhabited. He sets out to test the theory. An unraveling of the family's inherent traits follows in the "dream of all dreams." Through the lives of those before, Addy recalls some of the most significant events from the age of Adam and Eve onward. Truths are revealed as time progresses. From Africa to Canada over 2,000 generations, the evolution of communication is shown. This deals with the who, what, when, where, and why of the slow transition from simple oral traditions to those seemingly more complex. With each story and legend shared comes reminders of how the basic laws, codes, classes, cures, and emotions helped shape ever-changing societies. Addy aimed to test how far back memories extend. 'Deep' defines it. Wetion is an entrant in the 2026 Audie Awards and distributed by more than 50 on-line booksellers, including Kobo, and Kindle at https://www.amazon.ca/ The company respectfully acknowledges the land on which Wetion was produced is the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation, traditional keepers of the place.
