In 1990, she made history as Georgia's first Black Chief Judge of a State Court, presiding over one of the nation's largest juvenile court systems and earning national acclaim for pioneering juvenile reform. Today, millions of Americans know Hatchett as the presiding judge on the Emmy-nominated series Judge Hatchett and The Verdict. She is the author of two national bestsellers— Beyond the bench, Judge Hatchett has made a lasting impact across corporate, civic, and nonprofit leadership, serving on three corporate boards and as the national spokesperson for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) advocating for children and vulnerable communities.
