HOUSTON - Sept. 3, 2025 - PRLog -- Mauryunna Brown, a Houston-based author and spiritual coach, is a contributing writer in the upcoming Dear Black Woman Anthology, a collection of first-person letters by Black women to their younger selves and to one another. The book releases September 20, 2025.

Brown's letter traces early family upheaval and the long work of rebuilding self-worth. She writes about witnessing her mother's suicide attempt at age two, navigating a father's absence, and rejecting comparisons that muted her voice—experiences that seeded feelings of "not enough" and later healing through faith, language, and self-forgiveness. "You have always been worthy. You have always been enough," she affirms.

A core theme is the power of words—prayer and intentional speech as daily practice: guarding thought, choosing language with care, and speaking life over oneself and one's lineage.

Brown also centers forgiveness as release: "Forgiveness is not about forgetting—forgiveness is about liberation."

Her closing section invites readers to choose peace, protect joy, and refuse to shrink for others. Brown previously published a poetry collection, Pressure.44.

The anthology offers accessible guidance on emotional literacy, community care, and intergenerational support, making it a fit for book clubs, faith groups, and wellness programs.
