BEND, Ore. - Sept. 2, 2025 - PRLog -- The United States faces a severe shortage of healthcare providers in every category: doctors, nurses, pharmacies, physician assistants and behavioral  and mental health providers. Meanwhile there is a concurrent shortage of training slots available, making it difficult for healthcare students to find  and obtain the training required to meet graduation and licensure requirements.

According to State of the U.S. Healthcare Workforce, an annual report issued by the U.S. Bureau of Workforce:

As of June 14, 2024, approximately 75 million people live in a primary care Health

Professional Shortage Area (HPSA), and 58 million people live in a dental health HPSA.

Nationally, across all physician specialties in the United States, there is a projected

shortage of 187,130 FTE physicians in 2037. Nonmetro areas will experience greater shortages of various types of physicians than metro areas
