A New Audiobook Features Multimedia Qualities Original Songs, Experiments and Allegories

Wetion is Historical Fiction Based on Fact and the Subject Matter is Well-Researched

COURTENAY COMOX, British Columbia - Aug. 7, 2025 - PRLog -- Wetion (2nd edn) is an audiobook designed to provoke thought. Its cross-genre approach to storytelling blends historical fiction with an experimental variety. Characters brought to life in its 19 chapters are further enlivened by the 10 scenes it connects to and original music adding to the atmosphere, emotions, and story about change.

Migration is both a cause and effect of this. To understand how, James Allan Krause, PhD investigated migration behaviour and research added to his knowledge base. This increased when the DNA test results produced by the Genographic Project charted the migration routes of his predecessors.  This contributed to the writing of an authentic account of the events and times found in Wetion.

A similar approach was used to create the original songs. Passion for music and research, along with an aptitude for testing went into fine tuning ten of the original songs added.

Converting the scripts into an audiobook multimedia format involved a wide variety of tests and analysis. All told, it took three attempts over three winters to produce the narrated version published.

It seems natural Wetion begins with an experiment. Conducted by Addy, the main character, the effect of this enables him to relive the highs and lows of his ancestors over the 2,000 generations, from the age of Adam and Eve to the present. All the wisdom acquired was presented to listeners.

How did a real-to-life test of courage influence a character's portrayal? The story behind this relates to the moment Krause stood at the podium of the ancient amphitheatre of Epidaurus, near Athens, to recite a few select lines from Wetion. As he finished, those in the cavea applauded. The feeling of exhilaration was then acted out in the lines spoken by Ava, a character in Scene 5, during a theatrical rant.

Another experiment included was his grandfather's, AW Blair, MD. His black widow spider experiment in Alabama in 1933 was published in a medical journal - he would later become the first Canadian to win a Rockefeller Scholarship. Part of the drama associated with Scene 9 lingers in the theory of there being elements of truth in family legends and, much history in all the personality traits displayed.

Wetion is an entrant in the 2026 Audie Awards and distributed by more than 50 on-line booksellers, one of which is Audible (https://www.audible.ca/search?keywords=Wetion&k=Wetio...).

The company respectfully acknowledges the land on which the audiobook musical was completed is the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation, traditional keepers of the place.
