Retired NJ State Police Captain Used Badge to Steal Family Estate; Weaponized the FBI, Says Whistleblower William O'HanlonWilliam O'Hanlon, U.S. Navy veteran, businessman, and MAGA candidate for mayor of Washington Township, has issued a public demand for accountability after exposing what he calls a "family betrayal turned government takedown."
CAMDEN, N.J. - Aug. 1, 2025 - PRLog -- According to O'Hanlon, retired New Jersey State Police Captain James Knoeller used his position of power to force the sale of his father's home and drain his estate and when O'Hanlon resisted, Knoeller allegedly called in a favor from his friend and FBI Agent Michael T. Poulton to destroy O'Hanlon's businesses and have him arrested.
"This wasn't justice—it was a family hit job carried out with a badge and a federal agency," said O'Hanlon. "Knoeller told me, 'If you don't move out of the house and let me sell it, I'll have you arrested. I'll bury you.' I didn't think he could actually do this. I laughed. I said, 'Don't I have to do something wrong to get arrested?' But I was wrong. He did it anyway—and the government helped him." Knoeller allegedly pressured rehab staff during the COVID-19 lockdown to gain access to O'Hanlon's ailing father at Morrestown Power Back Rehab. Knoeller used his influence to obtain power of attorney over the elderly man suffering from dementia. Within months, O'Hanlon's father's bank accounts were emptied, the family home was sold for far below market value, and O'Hanlon was evicted—despite Governor Murphy's moratorium on evictions during the pandemic. When O'Hanlon pushed back, he claims Knoeller retaliated by having him falsely arrested and then triggered an FBI investigation into his companies. "Knoeller was smart," said O'Hanlon. "He knew the power of a federal indictment. He told me exactly what he was going to do, and he weaponized the system to make it happen." O'Hanlon's companies—WAB LLC and RJD Corp—had helped thousands of defrauded timeshare owners recover millions of dollars, but came under federal investigation shortly after the family dispute. "They never investigated what my companies did right," he said. "This wasn't about the truth. It was about power, money, and silencing me." The incident has sparked outrage among supporters, many of whom view this as a dangerous abuse of law enforcement and prosecutorial authority. O'Hanlon has filed formal complaints with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Office of Professional Responsibility and is calling on Congress to launch oversight hearings. "This is what happens when you give law enforcement unchecked power and let them use it for personal gain," O'Hanlon said. "It's not just about me anymore. This could happen to anyone. Without divine intervention, I will die in jail. " For interviews, evidence packets, or whistleblower contact: 📧 info@ohanlonformayor.com End
