Rebuilding After War and Imprisonment: A Call to Support Ahmed Shaqoura's Return to Work and Life

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - July 24, 2025 - PRLog -- His story is one of survival, resilience, and hope—and now he is asking for the public's support to help him get back on his feet.

Before the war, Ahmed lived a stable life with his wife and five children. He was a dedicated professional, leading design teams and running a successful freelance business. He had recently completed the home he spent years building and owned a car to ease his daily commute.

But in late 2023, his life was upended. During the ground operations in central Gaza, his home was caught in the crossfire. His family endured days under siege before soldiers entered his home. In the aftermath, Ahmed was detained and later imprisoned for over a year. During that time, his home was destroyed, his work tools lost, and his health deteriorated significantly due to a lack of adequate care.

"I lost everything—my house, my job, my health," Ahmed says. "But I haven't lost hope."

Since his release through a prisoner exchange, Ahmed has reunited with his family and is determined to rebuild. Despite the trauma and ongoing challenges, he remains focused on a single goal: to return to his profession as a web and graphic designer. To do so, he needs essential tools—a computer, design equipment, and a safe space to work.

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to support Ahmed's efforts. Donations will help him purchase the equipment needed to resume his career and provide for his family.
