Following her gender reassignment surgery, she was now reintegrated into the workplace where she found her coworkers not only accepted her, but applauded her courage in taking the steps she had to become the person she had always felt in her heart she wanted to be. Nevertheless, she was hungry for a different life.

Her relationships with men had been incomplete in different ways, and she longed to find one man that she could feel fulfilled with.

As she came to understand what it meant to truly live as a woman on the terms she had always dreamed of, Arlina faced fresh challenges.  She began to yearn for a fresh start, where nobody knew the name or identity of the person she had been.

She felt ready to begin exploring her personal and sexual identity in new ways that went beyond her previous experience.  Her lifelong dream of living in Monterey began to come to the forefront of her desires.

Even while she was grateful for the support of her coworkers in the Worldway Postal Center in Los Angeles, she wanted to forge ahead, plunging into the unknown.
