This Woman Knows Media announces June 2025 microgrant recipients, opens July round

HOUSTON - July 1, 2025 - PRLog -- This Woman Knows (TWK) strengthens women-led businesses and creative projects through storytelling, funding, and strategic visibility. Today, the company proudly announces the recipients of its June 2025 microgrant, and celebrates the women whose work is shifting narratives, opening doors, and building legacy.

The $500 grant award goes to Anniesha McDonald, founder of Pompano Beauty Academy, a Florida-based hybrid beauty school designed to equip aspiring professionals, especially young women who have aged out of the foster care system, with flexible, accessible training and entrepreneurship tools. Her model is a bold response to generational poverty, offering skills and confidence that lead to self-sufficiency and purpose.

"Receiving this grant means so much more than financial assistance," said McDonald. "It's a powerful affirmation of the vision we hold at Pompano Beauty Academy. For many of our students, this isn't just about covering costs; it's a spark of hope that reminds them their dreams are valid and within reach."

Two $100 seed grants were also awarded:

• Yvanne Joseph, LMHC, MFT, founder of Selenite Therapy, a healing-centered practice offering trauma-informed care and advocacy to mothers navigating systemic trauma, including child welfare involvement.
• Shanell Camp, founder of Shaded by Shanell, a beauty brand centering inclusivity and representation for individuals experiencing albinism.

There were 11 additional finalists whose work will be featured across the TWK media network. These entrepreneurs and visionaries will receive editorial exposure, ad space, and podcast airtime as part of This Woman Knows' mission to amplify brilliant women leading change in their communities.

"This is exactly what our microgrants are for," said TWK founder Lisa N. Alexander. "It's about putting capital into the hands of women whose ideas and leadership are already creating real, tangible change."

Since launching in May 2025, This Woman Knows has awarded five women with financial support and media amplification as part of its commitment to legacy building, visibility, and access.
