Is the Entertainment Industry in Legal Tragedy: Was Nas's song The World is Yours taken literally

NEW YORK - June 28, 2025 - PRLog -- DME Music Entertainment News

"Victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan." - John F. Kennedy

As John F. Kennedy was being sworn in as the United States Executive Chairman in the year of 1960; music started to shift in the early 1980s because of the harsh reality of the impact of drugs. The younger crowd of the urban cities began to establish a poetic form of blues, telling stories about the tragic conditions of impoverished city life. In the early 1980s the new rap genre started to become a success, and in 1994 a known rapper called E-40 signed the first record deal that was projected to pay out 3.5 million net pay.

As successful partnerships gave hope to a new enterprise that could generate long-term wealth for people that resided in lower income families; C. Delores Tucker the first African American woman to serve as Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania became a critic of rap music.

As E-40 achieved a milestone record deal; an upcoming rapper named Nas from Crown Heights, New York released " The World Is Yours" off the 1994 Illmatic Album. A lyric directly says, " I'm out for dead presidents to represent me", (Money) . Was this very lyric taken seriously by some upcoming people in the music industry?

As of June 2025, business music mogul Sean P. Diddy Combs will soon get that answer from his criminal trial. During his criminal trial there were some witnesses that described his lifestyle as money represented him, and allowed him to execute control over others as he received the key to New York City by the mayor Eric Adams in September 2023.

It has been said by certain fans that positive music is not as popular, but an upcoming music artist called Mooka da Babe has tributed his new song release Nass name nomen tha oath to the rap icon Nas.
