Her initial academic pursuit led to a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation Administration with a specialization in Recreation Therapy. Following this, she dedicated several years to working as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist before returning to UNC-CH to further her medical education. Ms. Guffey's career as a nurse practitioner is a direct reflection of her lifelong dedication to helping and caring for others.
