Texas Trust Gives Foundation Awards $74,000 in Grants to Public Schools

ARLINGTON, Texas - June 9, 2025 - PRLog -- The Texas Trust Gives Foundation continues its strong support for public education through its latest award of $74,000 in grants for district-wide education initiatives.

The grants range from $5,500 to $15,000 and support public schools in North, East, and Central Texas. The funds will be used by the districts for the 2025-2026 school year.

Six school districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area received grants, along with Athens ISD and San Angelo ISD.

Special education students within Arlington ISD will benefit from the Texas Trust Gives Foundation grant. It is going toward equipment and tools to implement a Sensory Motor Lab at eight of the district's elementary schools. The schools' occupational therapists will implement a structured learning environment for students to work on improving their sensory motor skills and positive self-control.

DeSoto ISD plans to use its grant to expand on the financial education curriculum designed to help shape financially responsible graduates. The grant will enable the district to better integrate financial literacy concepts into other core studies such as math, social studies, and economics. It will also assist the district in providing a financial reality fair so students can experience real-world financial decision making.

Grants awarded to other districts will cover reading programs (Athens and San Angelo ISDs), leadership development initiatives (Cedar Hill, Lewisville, and Mansfield ISDs) and student mentoring and connection efforts (Grand Prairie ISD).

"Financial readiness requires a strong educational foundation," said Washima Huq, Executive Director of the Texas Trust Gives Foundation. "Giving educators additional tools and resources to supplement the learning environment is another way we can help build brighter financial futures."

The Texas Trust Credit Union foundation has awarded more than $490,175 in grants to educators since 2022.
