BROOKLYN, N.Y. - June 4, 2025 - PRLog -- KidSpirit (kidspiritonline.com), the award-winning online magazine and community by and for 11-to 17-year-olds, is delighted to announce the winners of its annual KidSpirit Awards. The awards, chosen by the magazine's all-youth editorial boards around the world, recognize contributors for outstanding expository writing, personal essays, poetry, and artwork featured in KidSpirit in the last year. Over 90 editors from 15 countries selected pieces created by their peers from issues on Crisis & Change, AI and the Future of Knowledge, The School Experience, and Music and Art. This year's award-winning pieces showcase insightful, artistic, and eloquent approaches to a wide array of topics.

Each issue of KidSpirit revolves around a Big Question posed by the editors. The 2025 Big Question Award goes to a writer from Pakistan who explores the relationship between crisis and change.

In the Features department, editors recognize teens from Australia for pieces on music's impact on our minds and the many applications of AI, and a cohort of global contributors for their essays on "a day at school" around the world.

Winners in the Awesome Moments department include authors from New York, Australia, Singapore, and Nebraska, who share stories about profound discoveries during sleepaway camp, international school, a swim meet, and a vigil. Interfaith Connections Awards acknowledge youth from Pakistan and Taiwan for essays on how traditions like music, art, and storytelling connect us to our heritage. In Media, winning pieces include reviews of I Must Betray You, The Little Mermaid, and Klara and the Sun by teens from Pakistan, New York, and India.

Helping Hands Awards honor writers from Paraguay and Australia for their stories about the joy and importance of teaching both younger and older generations. Winners in the Fiction department include writers from China and Spain who shared stories exploring technology, resilience, and pursuing our dreams. The editors also selected winners from New York, Texas, Ghana, Paraguay, India, Pakistan, Ukraine, Spain, and Singapore in the Poetry and Art departments, highlighting the creative ways contributors around the world have shared their inner wisdom on this year's themes.

The 2025 PerSpectives Award — the only award reserved for an adult contributor — goes to Dr. Jane Quinn, a respected youth worker and advocate who pioneered the community schools movement.
