Vegan Wines Founder Wins Legal Battle After Collapse of Deal with PlantX

CHICAGO - May 20, 2025 - PRLog -- Frances Gonzalez, founder of Vegan Wines—the first 100% vegan wine company in the United States—has won a legal case against PlantX Life Inc. (now JIVA Technologies Inc.) after a failed investment agreement led to the collapse of her business.

In 2020, PlantX agreed to purchase 10% of Vegan Wines but never fulfilled the payment. Despite this, they used Gonzalez's name, mishandled and damaged her wine inventory, and publicly claimed a partnership. Their actions blocked potential investors and ultimately forced Gonzalez to shut down her company.

"I built Vegan Wines from the ground up. Their behavior erased years of work and forced me to close the company," said Gonzalez. "I co-managed their XMarket retail store in Chicago without pay—and lost everything."

After pursuing legal action, Gonzalez won her case and is now speaking out to warn other entrepreneurs—especially in the ethical, vegan, and plant-based spaces—to be cautious of partnerships that appear promising but lack integrity.

PlantX, now JIVA Technologies Inc., operates under several brand names, including XMarket, Bloombox Club, Little West, Portfolio Coffee, and VeganEssentials.com.

"This isn't just about my company," Gonzalez added. "It's about protecting founders from being exploited by companies that market themselves as ethical while behaving unethically behind the scenes."
