In 2013, Threats was awarded the Key to the Town of Lake Providence, Louisiana—becoming the first recipient of this prestigious honor. She was also named the town's first-ever Grand Marshal, a tribute to her significant contributions to the arts and her lasting impact on the community. A Louisiana native, Threats is a member of Women In Film (Los Angeles) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She holds a bachelor's degree from Grambling State University and a master's degree from Amberton University.
