First U.S. woman to collaborate with Ghana on award-winning film Supercilious

HOUSTON - May 9, 2025 - PRLog -- Dallas, TX — We are honored to share the remarkable journey of Aurora LaShay Threats, an award-winning filmmaker and the first U.S. female to collaborate with Ghana on the internationally recognized animated short film Supercilious. Nominated at the 54th NAACP Image Awards, Supercilious earned multiple international film festival awards, solidifying Threats as a trailblazer in the creative industry. She continues to inspire through her groundbreaking work in cross-cultural storytelling.

In addition to her film success, Threats is preparing to release her debut children's book, Christmas In Our Town, from the Supercilious Collection. This heartwarming tale is designed to inspire children and families, bringing joy and creativity to the holiday season.

In 2013, Threats was awarded the Key to the Town of Lake Providence, Louisiana—becoming the first recipient of this prestigious honor. She was also named the town's first-ever Grand Marshal, a tribute to her significant contributions to the arts and her lasting impact on the community.
A Louisiana native, Threats is a member of Women In Film (Los Angeles) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She holds a bachelor's degree from Grambling State University and a master's degree from Amberton University. She currently resides in Dallas, Texas, where she continues her influential work in storytelling, production, and creative collaborations.
