By: Google Patrick Aloni is an Israeli-born entrepreneur, former special forces officer, and global investor reshaping the frontier of gold mining and resource development. Best known as the founder of Close Protection International Academy (CPI), which evolved into CPI Group Canada, Aloni built one of the world's most respected private security companies before transitioning into large-scale mining and investment ventures. Aloni served in Israel's elite military forces before earning his BA from Tel Aviv University. Leveraging his operational experience, he founded CPI in Canada, offering high-level protection services to governments, embassies, and international organizations. Between 2015 and 2020, CPI secured a significant number of unclassified and classified government contracts. During that period, it became one of the largest providers of private security services, supporting diplomatic facilities and bases abroad. In Arusha, Tanzania, Aloni leased over 5,000 acres of land to construct a private shooting range and special operations training center that served agencies including the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (UNICTR). He also developed the JPP (Judge Protection Program) and WPP (Witness Protection Program) to safeguard international legal personnel. Following CPI's sale to a group of investors in late 2020 estimated over 200M, Aloni pivoted into natural resource ventures. Today, he leads the ICA Group of Companies, a private equity firm active in gold mining, land acquisition, and emerging market investments across Africa and Southeast Asia.
