The Coalition on Urban Girls Launches an Event to Reimagine the Well-being of Urban Girls in Chicago

CHICAGO - April 15, 2025 - PRLog -- The Coalition on Urban Girls (CUG) is proud to announce the official launch of "A Unified Path Forward: Reimagining the Well-being of Urban Girls," a transformative convening taking place on Friday, April 25 at the Polsky Center - Theater at the University of Chicago.

This special event marks the re-launch of CUG's mission to serve as a collaborative hub for research, policy, and advocacy, driving collective action to improve the health, safety, and wellness of urban girls across the city.

At the heart of the gathering is the long-anticipated release of CUG's new White Paper, "Are the Girls Well?"—a comprehensive report that surfaces the voices and experiences of urban girls while analyzing the social conditions that impact their everyday lives. The findings will inform the next phase of work: the creation of a Quality of Life Plan (QLP) that prioritizes girl-centered strategies and systems change.

This event is more than a launch—it's a call to action for anyone who cares about the futures of Black and Brown girls in Chicago. Together, we can chart a unified path forward where every girl is seen, heard, and supported.

The event will include:

• A first look at the "Are the Girls Well?" White Paper
• A presentation of the framework for the Girl-Centered Quality of Life Plan (QLP)
• Interactive dialogue with youth leaders, researchers, policymakers, and community partners
• Opportunities for attendees to engage in the visioning and strategy process
