PRLog -- The Let Your Voice Be Heard Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce, "Courageous Conversations:
Honoring Male Experiences,"
a landmark event focused on raising awareness about male sexual assault. This event will take place on Saturday April 26, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm at the Salem-Panola Library in Stonecrest, GA.
Sexual assault remains a critical issue impacting individuals of all genders, yet the experiences of male survivors often go unrecognized or are met with stigma. "Courageous Conversations"
aims to break this silence by providing a platform for male survivors to share their stories and fostering dialogue around their unique experiences.
The program will feature:
- Survivor Testimonies: Courageous men will bravely share their journeys as survivors of sexual assault, shedding light on their challenges and triumphs.
- Perspectives from Mental Health Professionals and Spiritual Providers: Experts will discuss the psychological and spiritual dimensions of healing for male survivors, offering valuable insights and resources.
- Supporter Testimonies: Allies and supporters will share their perspectives on the importance of standing with male survivors and creating a supportive community.
- Informative Video Presentation: A compelling video presentation will provide essential information about male sexual assault.
- Panel Discussion and Q&A: A panel of experts and survivors will engage in a Q&A session, addressing community questions and providing guidance on supporting male survivors.
Statistics reveal that 1 in 4 men experience sexual assault as early as 11-17 years of age. According to recent studies, some common misconceptions about male sexual assault is that 'it is rare, women can't be perpetrators, it only happens in prison, and men don't suffer psychological consequences."
Join us for an afternoon of compassion, education, and solidarity as we come together to support male survivors, advocate for change, and dispel myths. Together, we can break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create a more inclusive conversation about sexual assault.
