Grace Solutions receives $45K grant from Knights of St John

SAN JOSE, Calif. - April 8, 2025 - PRLog -- Grace Solutions, a San Jose-based nonprofit dedicated to helping the unhoused in the community with dignity and compassion, announced it received a grant for $47,500 from the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem Knights Hospitaller, St. Joseph Commandry. The organization chooses charities that reflects its mission of serving the sick and poor in Christ and where the gift can make a real impact on the community.

"We are aligned with the Knights of St John in our objective to help the most vulnerable in our community," said Grace Solutions Director Phil Mastrocola. "This grant will enable our case managers to better serve our unhoused guests in reaching their goals through referrals to other service partners, including health care, job training, government benefits, and social service programs. It will also assist them to find more opportunities to apply for permanent supportive housing. The upgrades we can make because of this grant give us the ability to serve our most vulnerable guests for years to come."

Grace Solutions provides interim housing, hygiene and food programs for the unsheltered population in central Santa Clara County. It operates a weekday drop-in hygiene program in downtown San Jose, an outreach programs to reach those who live outside through a mobile hygiene program utilizing a mobile shower unit, and a temporary housing program for unsheltered downtown San Jose residents during periods of inclement weather.

Funds from this grant will be used to complete a project to upgrade the facility and replenish supplies that will enable Grace Solution to expand its shelter capacity, providing space to accommodate additional overnight beds for women. The work will also include improvements to ensure privacy, safety, and ADA access for all guests.
