Americana Artist Regina Ferguson Drops New Single "Lucky" + Short Film Montana Special "Lucky"

LOS ANGELES - April 4, 2025 - PRLog -- Regina Ferguson announces the release of her new single, "Lucky," and short film Montana Special "Lucky," debuting April 22, 2025. Directed by Emmanuelle Pickett, the film features a live performance and highlights luthier Ren Ferguson of Gibson, Guild, and Ren Ferguson Co.

Filmed in Belgrade, Montana, at Ferguson's workshop and other locations, the film follows Regina's cherished guitar and the hands that crafted it.

Regina shares, "I found my dream guitar, a Gibson J-200, in a vintage LA shop. A plaque on the headstock read 'Montana Special,' which caught my eye—I had spent time in Montana writing my last record. Then I noticed the builder's name was Ferguson. I named the guitar 'Lucky.' After performing at NAMM 2024, I met Ren Ferguson, who built my guitar. Meeting him was moving; I wanted to honor that moment with a song from the guitar's perspective. I sent the song to Ren, whose heartfelt response led Emmanuelle Pickett and me to fly to Montana to film my performance at his workshop. That's how Montana Special "Lucky" was born—a full-circle moment from instrument to player to song. I recorded an acoustic live take to analog tape to capture that sincerity."

Director Emmanuelle Pickett, known for her film All Souls starring Oscar winner Mikey Madison (Anora) and musician G-Eazy, brings cinematic clarity to the story.

"Great songs transcend time," Pickett says. "They can mend a heart, spark a rebellion, or tell the truth. Writing this song from its perspective gave us a powerful lens, and this film shows how one guitar connects people across generations."
