VIBING IN THE PARK – A Deep Afro Jazz House Dance Party for Creative Sector Advocacy Week

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - April 2, 2025 - PRLog -- In celebration of Creative Sector Advocacy Week in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Oversoul Theatre Collective, Underground Railroad Cafe, and Poly-Groove Records are teaming up to present VIBING IN THE PARK, a dynamic Deep Afro Jazz House Music dance party on [DATE] at Monte's Park (214 Acushnet Ave, New Bedford, MA) from 4:30 to 7:30 PM.

This free, open-air event is set to ignite the local scene with an electrifying mix of Afrobeat, jazz, soulful house, and rare groove as WAMPTRONICA, the renowned underground dance music collective, takes center stage. The collective's unique blend of rhythms and melodies is sure to provide a vibrant, high-energy experience that will have everyone on their feet.

In addition to the DJ set, there will be live vocal performances from celebrated artists including The ZYG 808, Mwalim, and legendary vocalist Navalle "Chops" Turner. Their soulful, powerful vocals will bring extra depth and storytelling to the event, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of music, community, and culture.

VIBING IN THE PARK is not just a dance party—it's an activation of public space, turning Monte's Park into a vibrant gathering spot where art and culture come together. As part of Creative Sector Advocacy Week, the event highlights the importance of arts and culture in building strong, connected communities, as well as supporting the local economy through accessible public events.

The event also serves as the official kickoff for WAMPTRONICA's annual THE SESSION pop-up dance party tour, which will bring high-energy performances to parks and public spaces across eastern Massachusetts from May to November. This ongoing series will continue to blend live music and dance, creating spaces for people to connect, express themselves, and experience the joy of music.
