ATLANTA - April 2, 2025 - PRLog -- The Becoming Love Project, Inc., a newly launched nonprofit, is redefining storytelling as a tool for healing. With a diverse board of women leaders spanning film, media, and mental health across New York, Atlanta, and Ohio, the organization is on a mission to help individuals rewrite their personal narratives—literally.

Founded by filmmaker Tamala Baldwin, whose work has been featured on BET+, Netflix, Disney, Hulu, and Tubi, The Becoming Love Project merges narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and trauma-informed care with the art of filmmaking. Through workshops and film projects, the organization empowers individuals to reclaim their stories, transform pain into purpose, and step into a future they control.

"Women have always been the storytellers of history—whether through oral tradition, literature, or film. But too often, we don't realize we have the power to rewrite the most important story of all: our own," says Tamala Baldwin, founder and CEO of The Becoming Love Project. "We are creating space for people to reimagine their past and craft a narrative that leads to healing, empowerment, and love."

The organization's first free program, The Story Rewrite (https://becomingloveproject.org/the-story-rewrite/), offers a hands-on experience in re-authoring life stories through screenwriting and guided storytelling techniques. This interactive event will feature expert speakers, personal storytelling exercises, and surprise gifts for attendees.

"As a therapist, I've seen firsthand how the stories we tell ourselves shape our mental and emotional well-being," says Robyn Hill, Founding Programming Co-Chair and therapist, currently completing her Ph.D. in Education in Community Care and Counseling with a focus in Traumatology. "The Story Rewrite is about more than just revisiting the past—it's about taking back the pen and writing a future rooted in self-love and agency."

Board member Cecelia Waterman-Santiago, Founding Sponsorship Co-Chair and a former finance executive, sees this initiative as a crucial step toward mobilizing support for healing through storytelling. "Investing in this work isn't just about funding a program—it's about funding transformation," says Waterman-Santiago. "When we support people in rewriting their stories, we don't just change individual lives—we create a ripple effect of healing that impacts families, communities, and future generations."

This FREE event will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Atlanta. The location is exclusive and will be shared with confirmed registrants.

Space is limited—early registration is encouraged! Visit https://becomingloveproject.org/rsvp-for-the-story-rewrite/ for details and free registration.
