CAPE COD, Mass. - Jan. 16, 2025 - PRLog -- Sea Crow Press is delighted to announce Madeleine F White's collection The Horse And The Girl available on February 4th. A second edition, it is republished as part of the Crossing Places series by award-winning women-owned independent publisher, Sea Crow Press.

ABOUT THE BOOK
A sequence of 30 poems that turn from laugh-out-loud funny to deeply moving in a heartbeat, The Horse And The Girl is about discovering what lies at the heart of their blended existence in poems that ring with simplicity and truth.
The collection is engaged with the big questions and the emotional states in which we live. It's also a simple expression of love between a horse and his 'girl' – as they explore the disappearing wildernesses of Kent's coastal landscape. Based on her own travels on horseback, the author invites us to look beyond the road they ride on and beyond the page she writes, into the beating heart of our natural world and the relationships it contains.

ABOUT THE CROSSING PLACES SERIES
Life affirming, nurturing, mothering, the series challenges women and our allies to come together to express experiences of the feminine through shared values, ideas and stories.
Maiden Mother Crone (out April 4) sees this unfolding into memoir in verse; an unflinching portrayal of trauma, motherhood, addiction, recovery and ultimately hope. Described as 'Brave and Powerful,' it has been likened to Alice Oswald's work by reviewers.
Finally, Maiden Mother Crone: The Anthology will be released in 2026. This collection of poems builds community through poetry. Drawn from poems written in response to those in Maiden Mother Crone – collected via the submissions portal and workshops Madeleine is running, this anthology harnesses the powerful connection women have, no matter who they are or where they come from.

REVIEW HIGHLIGHTS
"Many people love horses, but few have the sensitivity to write about the depths of the relationship, Madeleine is among them."
Sunday Times columnist Melanie Reid

"There is wisdom, there is profundity, and there's a charming style to the works which – despite embracing themes of ageing, death, and the dangers that are palpably present to our environment – are lightly penned and seem to whinny, canter, and trot this way and that, carrying the reader on a journey that's emotional as well as heartfelt. In all, it's a sweetly affecting book, and very accessible to any reader."
Mab Jones award-winning poet and Broadcaster, Buzz Magazine
