Damon Batiste of NOLA's Royal Family of Music, To Be Inducted into Louisiana Music Hall of Fame

Damon Batiste hails from the legendary Batiste musical lineage, often celebrated as NOLA's Royal Family of Music. His father, David Batiste, and brother, Russell Batiste, Jr., have left an indelible mark on the New Orleans music scene. On October 10, 2024, a heartfelt celebration marked the one-year anniversary of Russell Batiste, Jr.'s burial, honoring his legacy and the Batiste family's profound contributions to music. This special event took place at the New Orleans Riverwalk, reflecting on the lasting impact of the Batistes' artistry.

Throughout his career, Damon has been an ambassador for New Orleans music, recently showcasing his talents at this year's Juneteenth Festival in Washington, D.C., where he joined a stellar lineup of musicians to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of African American music.

Beyond his performances, Damon Batiste has made notable strides in cultural tourism, particularly during his extensive travels, including his 84^th  visit this year to Africa.
