Esteves Receives 'Champion of Georgia's Cities' Award

ATLANTA - Oct. 15, 2024 - PRLog -- Sen. Jason Esteves (D-Atlanta) received a 2024 "Champion of Georgia's Cities Award" from the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA). The award, which is given at the end of every two-year legislative term to state legislators who actively support major GMA initiatives and goals, was presented to Esteves on October 11th in Atlanta.

During the 2024 legislative session, Esteves actively opposed legislation that included immigration measures, including House Bill 301, that would adversely affect Georgia's cities, emphasizing those detrimental effects. He also took a strong stand against the Buckhead cityhood initiative during the 2023 legislative session. Senator Esteves' informed testimony highlighted the potential negative impacts on not just the city of Atlanta, but the concerning precedent it could set for other municipalities across the state of Georgia.
