The City of Alameda is providing 50 percent of the funding for the project. The remaining 50 percent is being drawn from the Measure B facilities bond, which community members approved in 2022. "Alameda High School's swimming facilities have long been plagued by mechanical issues, which resulted in interruptions to both our student athletes' practices and the City of Alameda's recreational swim program," said Pasquale Scuderi, superintendent of AUSD. "We are thrilled about the opportunity to provide a state-of-the- Demolition of the existing pool and adjacent finishes started last month. The swim center will be closed for the entirety of the project, with current swim programs moved to the Encinal Swim Center located at 230 Central Avenue in Alameda. The project is slated for completion in fall 2025.
