NEW YORK - Sept. 25, 2024 - PRLog -- After submitting this piece to both the Washington Post and the New York Times and receiving polite rejections, I found myself grateful for two reasons. First, these rejections continue to remind me of my insignificance—something I have come to embrace and value deeply. Second, they challenge me to look within rather than create excuses based on externalities. In a world that often measures success by external validation, these moments of being turned away serve as a reminder that true growth and reflection come from within.

As Latinos in the United States, we hold a growing and powerful voice—one that resonates louder with each election cycle. But with that voice comes a great responsibility. Today, I invite my community into a pragmatic conversation about how we use our vote, not just in the moment, but with an eye toward the future, for the sake of our community and beyond.
We often face choices that feel binary—voting for the least worst option. It's easy to become disillusioned by candidates who seem more interested in power than serving the people. Whether they wear the label of Democrat, Republican, or Independent, we must question their integrity.
