Trump assassination attempt prompts concerns by crisis manager

Dear American:

We are providing an immediate response to the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump. In particular, we want to express concern at the way the investigation is being handled. We watched the initial news conference around 5:00 P.M. in West Palm Beach on September 15th.

Please note I am in New York so I am not in West Palm Beach. However, we have a major presence in Palm Beach (andymartinworldwide.com) and are familiar with the area of the golf course. I frequently drive down Congress Avenue and Summit Boulevard, the corner where the suspected assassin was located, because I use the main post office in West Palm Beach which is across from the golf course.

Two matters triggered my concern. First, while the local prosecutor's office was present, there was no representative of the United States Attorney's office at the news conference. The federal court in West Palm Beach has a magistrate judge on emergency call 24/7. If the FBI has assumed control because the incident is considered an attempted assassination, and therefore a federal offense, then automatically the U. S. Attorney's office should be involved. Leaving the work of criminal charges and warrants to the local prosecutor is somewhat surprising. And risky.

Second, if the alleged assassin has been arrested, and it appears that he has been taken into custody, he should be taken into federal custody immediately. I cannot understand why the assassin is still being held at a local county jail. Local standards of security are less stringent than federal requirements. The assassin should be taken into federal custody immediately to avoid a Lee Harvey Oswald situation in 1963.

I will be staying in New York for a few days but we will initiate a presence out of West Palm Beach to provide any assistance which may be of value to local and federal authorities or other entities. In particular, we do not know whether the assassination was a domestic terrorist, like the "Bernie Bro" that attacked Republican congressmen who were practicing for the congressional baseball game, or whether there are foreign links to the individual in custody, in which case that is our specialty.
