Follow on Google News | Patriot Day Ceremony And 2,200 Steps WalkBy: Fairhaven Memorial Park Santa Ana, CA – Saturday, September 7 at 9am Fairhaven Memorial Park (https://www.dignitymemorial.com/ Fairhaven invites members of the community to begin their day by taking 2,200 steps, symbolic of the 110 flight heroic ascent that firefighters took on September 11, 2001. Participants will walk the slightly over one-mile route through Fairhaven's beautiful memorial park. On 9/11, 343 FDNY firefighters gave their lives in the World Trade Centers. "2,200 Steps is a way to never forget one of the most tragic days in American history" said Stephanie Alvarez, General Manager of Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary. "We hope that our community will join us to walk and to remember." Opening Ceremony—9: Walk Begins—9:30am Walk Concludes—10: The ceremony will include invocation by Orange City Fire Chaplain Ric Olsen, a message honoring our heroes from Santa Ana Councilmember Jessie Lopez and Orange County Fire Authority Chief Jim Henery. Orange County Fire Authority Engine #71 will hoist the American Flag as Bugles Across America plays "Taps". Emily Alvarez of Fairhaven Memorial Park will also perform a patriotic song. End
