HP Investors Spins Off Nor Cal Affiliate to Focus on RE Investment in Los Angeles and San Diego

SOLANA BEACH, Calif. - Aug. 26, 2024 - PRLog -- Real Estate investment firm HP Investors ("HPI") has successfully completed a corporate restructuring which includes the separation from its Northern California affiliate HP Investors North.

HPI was founded in 2010 by longtime real estate investment professionals Sumeet and Harki Parekh to focus on the acquisition, asset management and property management of value-add real estate opportunities in Southern California.  Since its founding HPI has grown its real estate portfolio to approximately $1 billion in AUM made up of retail, office, mixed-use, multifamily and hospitality assets throughout Los Angeles and San Diego Counties.

In 2014, HPI entered into a joint venture with partner Isaac Abid to form HP Investors North, a completely separate wholly owned entity to pursue similar opportunities in the Bay Area. Leveraging off the HPI brand, Abid with investment from a combination of private and institutional capital, built a portfolio of approximately 500,000 square feet of mixed use, retail, industrial and commercial office space.

Under the restructuring, Abid will continue to serve as general partner with the day-to-day control of the Northern California portfolio under his new venture Lakeside Group, an Oakland-based real estate investment and management firm.

HPI will remain an investor but will divest its interests in the Northern California portfolio over time, allowing the firm to concentrate on the Southern California markets.
