ZHENGZHOU, China - Aug. 13, 2024 - PRLog -- Lignite often referred to as brown coal, is a soft, brown, combustible sedimentary rock formed from naturally compressed peat.  It has a low carbon content, and when removed from the ground, it contains a very high amount of moisture. Lignite has a high content of volatile matter, its high moisture content and susceptibility to spontaneous combustion can cause problems in transportation and storage. Therefore, lignite must be processed before it can be used.

Also, since dried coal is easier to convey, this reduces maintenance costs and increases availability of the coal handling system.
