$223,000 in Virginia State Funding Awarded to the Brain Injury Association of Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. - July 1, 2024 - PRLog -- Richmond, VA - The Virginia General Assembly included additional funding for BIAV and local brain injury providers in its budget, which was ultimately signed by Governor Glenn Youngkin in April. The new funding includes an additional $223,000 for the Brain Injury Association of Virginia effective July 1, 2024.

"This significant funding will allow us to enhance our services for people with brain injuries, their caregivers and families, and professionals within the brain injury community," said Linda Wilkinson, Interim Executive Director of the Brain Injury Association of Virginia. "We are committed to serving all areas within the Commonwealth of Virginia with excellent, responsive services. We will use this funding to expand outreach in multiple communities, including with providers, and improve service coverage across underserved areas of Virginia. This will increase referral availability and create more educational opportunities for professionals in the brain injury field, enabling them to better serve those affected by brain injury."
