Peter Borbely the New General Manager of Ontario Radio Station, Classic 1220 AM

ST. CATHARINES, Ontario - June 19, 2024 - PRLog -- Peter Borbely began his career in radio as an intern at C-HOW in 1965 under the mentorship of Bud Riley. He started off as one of Riley's student announcers, handling various operating assignments at the station at the age of 16. His first big break came when he was assigned to operate for the Walter Ostenak show on Sunday nights. Eventually, Peter found himself on the air from 7 to midnight.

In 1967, he left C-HOW for CKGB and made the transition to television at CFCL in Timmins in 1968, hosting his own show called "Pete's Place." He returned to radio in 1971 at CHSJ Saint John, N.B., and CFBC as a program director. After a brief stint back at C-HOW in 1979, he joined CKTB in St. Catharines as a salesman.

From 1985 to 1989, Peter returned to the airwaves at CHSC St. Catharines before moving back into sales in 1993. Following his retirement, he became a part-time salesman for Trucker Radio, a syndicated Canadian-owned Trucking News Radio show aired on over thirty-five Canadian stations. Peter now serves as the General Manager of CLASSIC 1220 AM (formerly 1220 CHSC) in St. Catharines, Ontario.
