"Woman" (Weapon Riddim) by Beenie Man

Several artists produced songs utilizing the "Weapon Riddim" as its musical backdrop, including "Harambe" by Saba-Saba, which is part of the soundtrack and score for the Disney hit movie The Queen of Katwe. Dancehall & reggae stars Tifa and Vybz Kartel. R&B hitmakers Jimmy Cozier and Blackbuddfly and more. The standout single was the legendary Beenie Man for the track entitled "Woman".

"Woman" instantly became an underground dancehall smash garnering international mix show radio play and a staple record of nearly every deejay's set list that played reggae and dancehall events.

The success of "Woman" sparked the interest of upstart liquor brand NUVO which entered into a cross-branding agreement with Goodthyme Click/MaxaMusic Group to cross brand The "Weapon Riddim" throughout the Caribbean market. The campaign helped to allow NUVO to successfully saturate the Caribbean and Latin communities both domestically and internationally.

Like many small start-up companies, the great economic crash of 2008 presented a setback for Goodthyme Click/MaxaMusic Group this unfortunate occurrence prevented the "Woman" and the other songs set to the "Weapon Riddim" from reaching mainstream heights.

However, good music is good music and Beenie Man's "Woman" is still being played globally and kept alive on the internet highlighted by the hundred of thousands of streams across the internet.

In 2017 Goodthyme Click/MaxaMusic Group reorganized itself as Up Top Click Entertainment and has decided to partner with Groover to distribute across all platforms its vast catalog of "underground" and "Cult" classics starting with "Woman" by Beenie Man and the rest of the "Weapon Riddim" tracks.

Produced by Sean "Due" Lashley and Jessie Samuel Shatkin the "Weapon Riddim" has an undeniable baseline accompanied by an iconic horn sample from the great Albert Collins the instrumental immediately grabs the listeners attention with the inescapable compulsion to dance.

On "Woman" the great Beenie Man is in his prime displaying his lyrical dexterity complete with his trademark vocal delivery and metaphorical songwriting style that made him one of the greatest recording artists of all time no matter the genre.
