USA photographer Richard S. Chow exhibits at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum Taito-ku, Tokyo

 
TAITO-KU, Japan - June 8, 2024 - PRLog -- Tokyo, Japan -  Los Angeles-based photographer Richard S. Chow announces an upcoming exhibit on June 15 showcasing his latest work at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. The show, titled "USA Exhibition," features a diverse array of artists and photographers from around the world, alongside a special solo exhibition, "Pollock Explored," dedicated to the incredible art of Jackson Pollock. The opening reception will be held on June 15, 2024.

"The Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum is an iconic space," says Mr. Chow. "I am extremely honored to exhibit alongside the legendary Jackson Pollock and share my recent work with Japan." The exhibit will display artwork from across the globe, including contributions from a team of American artists. Both exhibits are curated by Julienne Johnson (USA) for the 23rd Japan International Art Exchange, under the stewardship of Chairman Katsu Shimmin.

We invite you to join the festivities on June 15 for the opening reception. Richard S. Chow will present his recent work in camera-less alternative photography, featuring unique abstract pieces. Each artwork is a one-of-a-kind original, with edition prints also available.

About Richard S. Chow

Richard S. Chow is a renowned award-winning photographer and artist based in Los Angeles, California, celebrated for his fine art, documentary, and unique photo-based creations. With a studio in the vibrant Little Tokyo district of downtown Los Angeles, he has showcased his work in solo exhibitions at prestigious venues including the Museum of Art and History (MOAH) Lancaster, Orange Coast College, Neutra Museum & Gallery, and Metro 417 Gallery. In 2024, he is set to present a solo show at Gallery 825 in West Hollywood, California, and he has contributed to over 120 group exhibits.

Richard's works are in the public collections at the American Hotel, and the LA Public Library Foundation. He has independently published two books and is featured in the monograph "LACMA Jazz 25th Anniversary" published by the LA County Museum of Art.

Beyond his own art, Richard shares his expertise with the art community as a curator, portfolio reviewer, seminar moderator, instructor, and grant reviewer for the California Arts Council, a state agency.
