DETROIT - May 28, 2024 - PRLog -- Centering Black Children in Education is an organization dedicated to holistically identifying issues, discussing solutions, and making the changes necessary for the improvement of Black children's life outcomes. CBCE is raising funds to continue exploring the myriad ways to ignite the imaginative solutions that will illuminate our school communities.

Funds will be raised at the inaugural ball, "Shades of Black," being held Sunday, June 9, from 6 - 11 p.m. at the Garden Theatre, 3929 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Michigan 48201. Tickets for the black tie event start at $180 and are available for purchase on Eventbrite, accessed here. The event benefits the Sankofa Scholarship Collective, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports CBCE's leadership programming for Detroit's school communities.

The "Shades of Black" ball will bring together community leaders, philanthropists, and supporters, for an extravagant evening of celebration and giving. The memorable occasion will be filled with inspiring moments, music, fine dining, entertainment, and networking opportunities. Most importantly, the ball will celebrate the achievements and potential of Black children in academic settings, as we work to make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.

"The CBCE ball is my pre-COVID dream come true - with supporters all decked out in high fashion to celebrate our successes and discuss long-term goals for the organization," said Dr. Rema, founder of Centering Black Children In Education. "I am so excited to extol the exceptional work that the leaders who contribute their time and talent to this mission are doing with Detroit's school communities."
