Western 'Ghost Town' Immortalizes 'Ghost Town in the Sky' Theme Park

LANSING, Mich. - May 21, 2024 - PRLog -- This year saw the unfortunate passing of Herbert 'Cowboy' Coward joining his DELIVERANCE and GHOST TOWN co-star Bill McKinney. CDI produced a smoky mountain western at the once world famous 'Ghost Town in the Sky' theme park in Maggie Valley, NC. The based on loose history story highlights the feuding of two families headed by Coward and McKinney. They frightened audiences together as the Mountain Men in Deliverance and now they're pitted against one another.

The film enjoyed an initial run with Lionsgate debuting as the #1 western rental for 7 weeks and stayed in the top ten for 17 weeks. This was when DVD was king and now the market has shifted to streaming and CDI has signed a new deal with Ammo Content out of NYC. The film will be made available on various streaming platforms and for the first time in the UK.

The film's young leads are the Emmy Nominated Princess Daazhraii Johnson and multi-award winning DJ Perry. Both Johnson and Perry are accomplished writers and producers in additional to their acting contributions. They're the 'Romeo & Juliet' of our tragic story, both coming from their feuding families that both have an axe to grind against one another.

Additionally the film boasts a great supporting cast consisting of Rance Howard, Renee O'Connor, Tony Becker, Stella Parton, Terence Knox and Sammy Kershaw. 'Ghost Town in the Sky' theme park star Robert Bradley plays a major role with co-director Dean Teaster reprising the 'Digger' the undertaker role his father made famous at the theme park.

Directed by Jeff Kennedy and Dean Teaster from a script by DJ Perry (Wild Faith, Man's Best Friend). The film also showcases beautiful camerawork by David Isern, known recently for his work on RAMBO: Last Blood, Kandahar, Greenland and Angel Has Fallen and a powerful score by composer Dennis Therrian.
