Author Workshop this Saturday at Main Albuquerque Library

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - April 17, 2024 - PRLog -- On Saturday April 20, 2024, Best Selling Author Michelle Murray will present a writing class for those interesting in polishing up and publishing their own novels and stories.  She will also discuss her book The Grass Is Green Where It's Watered:  The Power of Servant Leadership.  The free two hour class will be held from 1 PM to 3 PM in the Conference Room at the Main (Downtown) Albuquerque Library, located at 501 Copper Avenue Albuquerque, NM 87102

Michelle will be joined by regional historical fiction author Joanne Dwyer Ivey, who will speak about her latest novel, Kernal's Boys.  Mrs. Ivey spent a number of years conducting research for the book, and is thrilled to finally be able to bring it to audiences around the globe.  She, along with Ms. Murray, will donate a book to be given away in a drawing to a lucky attendee!

After a career in the United States Army, Michelle decided to pursue her passions.  These include writing, acting, camping, SCUBA diving, horsemanship, volunteering and spending time with her son. Michelle is also an actress, screenwriter, and host of talk radio program, Chelle's Three Cents, on Blogtalkradio. She is the writer and Executive Producer of the KMP production "Mendacity."  Her resume of projects includes both television and film.  Michelle holds an undergraduate degree in Entertainment Business and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing.  She is currently pursuing her Doctorate.

Joanne Dwyer Ivey, who has spent the last 50+ years living on a pecan farm in Texas, was born in 1939 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and was raised in a home filled with literature and a deep appreciation for language.  After earning her Bachelor of Arts in English, along with a teaching certificate, Joanne embarked on a teaching journey, starting at a parochial school in Texas.   Joanne and Jim raised seven children and were partners in their farming business for over five decades.  In her own words, Joanne reflects on the importance of listening to the stories of the elderly, a sentiment that resonates deeply with the themes of her book. "Kernal's Boys" stands as a testament to the richness of history and the power of storytelling, inviting readers to cherish and learn from the past.
