Brington Investment Limited - T-Mobile Acquires 48.8 Million Shares, Boosting SoftBank's Stock

Softbank's American depository receipts (ADRs) rose around 2.5% on Wednesday after the firm indicated it will get additional T-Mobile US (TMUS) shares as part of the acquisition of Sprint.
CENTRAL, Hong Kong - Jan. 3, 2024 - PRLog -- Immediately after the completion of the requirements established in the Letter of Agreement for the 2020 Sprint acquisition, the Japanese giant made the announcement that it would get 48.75 million T-Mobile shares at no additional cost. These shares have a value of about $7.59 billion annually.

Softbank acquired a controlling stake in Sprint in July 2013, paying around $22 billion for the acquisition. SoftBank sold the company to T-Mobile in the year 2020, and as a condition of the sale, the current payment demand was included in the transfer agreement.

According to the company, it is anticipated that T-Mobile would issue the shares within a period of ten days after the filing of the request.

Since the news was made, there was a little increase in the value of T-Mobile shares in the United States. Earlier this month, they achieved a new all-time high, and it is anticipated that they will continue to be positive until the year 2023.
