Exhibit and Hosts Anniversary Celebration to Shine a Light on its 50 Years of Extraordinary Service and Impact as a Creative Force in the Waco Community. "Art Center Waco has a rich history of educating and advocating for the arts in the Waco community," states ACW Executive Director, Meghan Bias. "In celebration of our 50th Anniversary, we invite our Guests to immerse themselves in our vibrant gallery atmosphere and explore the diverse talents of our artists and our exhibits." Since 1973, ACW, a public, nonprofit institution in Waco, Texas, has diligently worked to enrich lives by deepening the understanding, exploration, and appreciation of the visual arts through engagement with programs, exhibitions, collections, and collaborations. ACW also works to be an innovative curator and presenter of premier exhibitions. Most recently, ACW presented the famed African American Hermès designer, Kermit Oliver, who resides in Waco, as well as presented well known artists and collaborators, Ty Nathan Clark and Vy Ngo, to name a few. ACW is devoted to presenting visual art in its new gallery Center as well as in its mobile gallery with the ultimate goal to inspire ideas, artistic contributions and conversations that are important and relevant to our world today. Therefore, in celebration of ACW's momentous occasion, the organization will present an exhibit showcasing its impact on the Waco community over the past 50 years. The exhibit will highlight many of the artists who have exhibited with ACW through the years. A preview of the exhibit opens Wednesday, November 8, 2023. "Our 50th Anniversary exhibit celebrates and honors our history of being a creative force in the Waco community. Specifically, the 50th Anniversary exhibit is a retrospective that exemplifies our past with adoration and sets the foundation to grow and evolve in the future to best serve our community," states Bias.
