MBCEA Releases 2023 Building of the Year Video

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Nov. 2, 2023 - PRLog -- www.mbcea.org - The Metal Building Contractors & Erectors Association (MBCEA) has released its latest video, MBCEA 2023 Building of the Year – PortMiami Terminal F Roof Retrofit, on its YouTube channel, @MBCEA. (https://www.youtube.com/@MBCEA/videos) The video is a comprehensive look at this year's winning project by Lemartec Corporation, a MasTec company, of Coconut Grove, Florida.

"Our newest video provides a detailed look at the PortMiami project," says Sasha Demyan, MBCEA Executive Director. "This year's winning project is unique and topped a great field of entries. The video is an ideal resource for anyone interested in this project, metal buildings in general and specifically a retrofit roof, with detailed images and insightful commentary. Coincidentally, the Metal Buildings Institute released a Retrofit Roofing informational video this year, so this project certainly complements the education provided."

The video features an analysis of the design needs and issues from the architect, Jaime Ruiz, AIA, of Perez and Perez architects. James Partridge was the project manager with Lemartec Corporation and explains the challenges and solutions for the roof retrofit and expansion of Terminal F. He notes the use of Varco Pruden (VP) Buildings' standing seam metal roof and wall panels in a bright blue color, while also going into detail on how they had to overlay those panels on an existing building and roof to blend the new and old structures.
